The Michelle Gifford and Shannon Durbin Senior Portrait show was held Saturday, May 23 from 10:00 to 2:00 pm. The duo, both solo photographers, joined together to show the public their work and to bring attention to the Elkader Art Center at 115 Main Street, Elkader. Upcoming Seniors, their families, and community members attended the show.
Michelle Gifford, owner of Gifford Photography, is a portrait photographer who specializes is seniors, babies and children, and family photos. She started by taking photographs of her children as a hobby which worked itself into a career doing outdoor portraits about four years ago. Most of her senior portrait work includes Central seniors, but also branches out to areas such as Ed-Co. Michelle's work often incorporates the natural beauty of the Turkey River and natural surrounding.
Shannon Durbin got her start doing senior photos as a high school art teacher in the Starmont School District six years ago. She is the owner of Durbin Design Photography and is the designer at The Clayton County Register. Her skills in design allow her to create senior invitations and specialized photoshop graphics. Shannon has done a number of weddings, senior photos and family portraits throughout Clayton and Fayette County. Her favorite shooting location is at Backbone State Park.
